On Saturday (24th June) I decided to go take a visit to GB150VC, its not far to travel but it was the first time i’d been into london on my own without being with someone so I wasnt to sure at first.
GB150VC was a special event station at the Royal Regiment of Artillery at Woolwich in SE London for the 150 years of the victoria cross, the event was setup by mike m1ccf & lawrie g4faa but operated mostly by cray valley radio society members.

I really enjoyed the day even though I had to get up at 5:30am to make it for the train at 7am, and had to cut my trip short in the evening when I found out that the 7:48pm train from London Paddington was going to be the last one and from then on it would be buses to Reading then change at Reading for another bus which didnt sound like much fun.
I also had my first go on operating on 6m and I’ve got to say what an interesting band one minute you can call for ages and get nothing, then all of a sudern you can get a pile up of europeans! The wire beam which we’ve got at home can work on 6m so might have to take a look at getting on this band.
