Thoughts on HFC

Posted by: peter In: general

The RSGB HF convention has finally passed and I’ve got to say I had a most enjoyable time catching up with new & old friends and sitting in on a few lecturers although I only sat in about 3 on Saturday.

Seeing how the new IOTA online system by Dom (M0BLF) will work was great and being able to upload IOTA contest logs, and automatically get credited with points without having to send QSL cards, I also went to Mike McGirr K9AJ talk about his DXpedition to 2 IOTA islands in Canada.

After that I sat in the bar area chatting and having a few drinks (sadly not beer, just coke!) then in the afternoon I went to the talk “3Y0X Peter 1 Island Expedition, Bob Allphin K4UEE” which was definitely the best DXpedition talk of the day and I cant wait to get the DVD about the whole trip.

If you did not go this year, I can certainly recommend that you try to go next year!
