GB4YOU On The Air

Posted by: peter In: events| special event stations

Yesterday (Wednesday 1st August) Terry (G0LUQ), Paul (M3JFM) and I (Peter, M3PHP) visited the local scout camp, which is on the edge of the city of Oxford to operate for a few hours as GB4YOU.

Station Setup

We setup the station which was an Icom IC706MK2II, MFJ atu the antenna we used was a 40ft doublet which tuned up fine on 80m & 40m. By lunch time we hit the air we soon found out conditions on 40m were somewhat lacking but in the end we managed about 20 contacts and passed around 25 greetings messages from cubs, scouts and explorers on the camp site.
