Kempton Park Radio Rally

Posted by: peter In: events

Last weekend it was the Kempton Park Radio Rally, unlike Paul (M0TZO) it wasn’t an early start! I was going along with Barry (G4AZN), we left Oxford around 8:10 and arrived at Kempton at 9:30am, and met up with Colin (G1PCU), Eddie (M0AEO) and Peter in the car park for a chat.

After standing around for ages waiting for the doors to open, we were finally let in I still had to pass the main door which had Paul (M0TZO) guarding it but that wasn’t too much of a problem after some kind words of wisdom were passed to each other.

Main items I was after as a new Heil Pro-Set (HC4) as our last set decided to pack up, there was plenty of choice and picked up a pair from ML&S. Finally I could contest again without having to fully rely on the digital voice keyer (DVK) in Win-Test, also picked up a couple of books from the RSGB stand.

We left the rally after being completely walked out at around 1pm and made it back to Oxford by 2:30pm, all ‘n all it was a great day out and was great meeting up with Paul and having some friendly banter!
